Peru is a country in the western part of South America.
First of all, this country is well known among millions of tourists for its cultural festivals and ancient ruins of Inca civilization.

However, in 2015 a new natural wonder emerged when the snow disappeared.
Vinicunca or Montaña de Colores or Rainbow Mountain is situated in the Andes at the altitude of 5200 meters or 17000 feet above the sea level.
The mountain is covered with strips of various colors.
The colors of the mountain are completely natural.
And the Mountain of 7 colors, as it usually called, acquired its colors due to minerals in the ground.
The Rainbow Mountain is located within 100 km distance from the city of Cusco.
At first there were about a couple of tourists and local people, but now more than 1500 visitors come here every day.
Also, this place is on the “Top 100 places to visit before you die” list by National Geographic.
The best time for visiting is August.
This month will provide you with immensely vivid colors.
Pay attention that, the weather is very changeable in this region, so try to avoid planning your trip in December, January and February.
Anyway you will need rain jacket as it often drizzles at the high altitude.
To protect your skin and eyes from the ultraviolet take a sunscreen and glasses.
Try to wear at least several layers of clothing.
The hiking trip is not very difficult but if you tired you can rent a horse or a bike.
You will see a lot of local animals in the wild such as alpacas and llamas, as well as wild horses.
By the way there are two Rainbow mountains in Peru – Vinicunca and Palccoyo.
Full Day Trek
The standard and regular tour is trekking.
However, you will need more than 3 hours to get to the starting point.
And it will take about 3 hours to get to the top of the mountain and 3 hours to get back.
Most of all you will be at your hotel at 19 p.m.
So be sure to plan the whole day for trekking and prepare all the necessary things.
Except good trekking shoes and backpack with water for the whole day, you will also need your passport.
